Château de Parenchère, Bordeaux Supérieur 2019

Château de Parenchère stands in the heart of the green, hilly countryside 38km east of Saint-Emilion, at the crossroads of the Gironde and the Dordogne. The vineyards sit on a seam of limestone soil with high clay content, which imparts great power and elegance in their wines; perfect to drink right away, but with the ability to age gracefully over many years too. Bordeaux Supérieur 2019 is made from a blend of 85% and 15% Cabernet Franc, all taken from vines aged between 25-60 years old. The Merlot imparts lovely soft, plummy-fruit flavours into the wine with the Cab Franc offering brighter, herbal aromatics and some tannin. Time spent in oak leaves a light chocolately-hazelnutty flavour which rounds off the wine really well. A great Bordeaux to pair with roast lamb or other hearty dishes.
